Photodegradation of Sulfamethoxazole and Enrofloxacin under UV and Simulated Solar Light Irradiation

Antibiotics, as typical emerging contaminants, are frequently detected in the aquatic environment due to their widespread and massive use, posing potential risks ecology human health. To characterize photodegradation behavior of antibiotics water environment, sulfamethoxazole (SMX) enrofloxacin (ENR) were selected this study, behaviors these two under UV simulated solar light irradiation investigated. The degradation rates SMX sources 0.235 min?1 0.024 min?1, respectively, ENR 0.124 0.043 respectively. Furthermore, effects influencing factors including different intensities, initial concentrations, inorganic anions, natural organic matter on studied. effect several active substances was explored by adding quenching agents, pathway proposed. study characteristics mechanisms may help provide a reference for subsequent development innovative efficient photocatalytic materials techniques remove from water.
